AESTHETIC VARIATIONS

Thanks to the combination of traditional methods and cutting-edge technology, FAZIOLI is able to apply any aesthetic variation to the piano, according to the client’s specific request or original project. Custom modifications can be applied to three different areas.

It is possible to request any other colour. The surfaces can be veneered with different types of woods. Many varieties of the same veneer are available, right until the precious “briers” obtained from the root of the tree. There is a wide choice of “briers”, some of which are extremely rare. All veneered surfaces can be finished with either a high-gloss or a satin polyester or with other transparent finishes that reveal the natural porosity of the wood, or with ancient, exquisitely manual buffer methods.

Christian‘s penthouse from the 50 Shades of Grey is modern and spacious.

FAZIOLI | Aim to be the best

Christian’s penthouse is modern and spacious. So much so that even with all the luxury furniture scattered around, a lot of space is still left. Some might even say it feels empty. Nevertheless, sophistication and style is bountiful in the scarcely furnished space. The Fazioli F278 may be the only thing in Christian Grey’s extra-large space, it presence makes the cavernous area feel full which are challenging feat for any key piece but theFazioli succeeds perfectly....

The absolute “jewel in the crown” is the largest Fazioli concert grand F308. This grand comes with a fourth pedal invented by Fazioli which aims to reduce the hammer-blow distance Thus decreasing the volumewithout modifying the timbre, at the same time facilitating the performance of glissandos, pianissimos, rapid passages and legatos. The most interesting component of the piano are called 'Hinges' made from 18-carat Gold Plated, rendering the piano very unique.

Fazioli used solid wood spruce from the district of Val di Fiemme in Italy. Trees from the region will grow to 1,000 m tall and exhibit tight growth rings, one of the mostimportant factors contributing to FAZIOLI excellent quality. It's been understood, like the FAZIOLI pianos, Stradivarius violins, were also made from wood coming from this region. The unique features of the wood inspired the finished instruments with an exhilarating sound quality and intense tonal properties that would attract global acclaim.

TESTIMONIAL OF A PROUD OWNER

HERBIE HANCOCK

“This day has been a great day for me. I am the proud owner of a brand new Fazioli piano. Your pianos can, with the sound of one note, announce the celebration of the freedom and creativity of the human spirit. Please continue doing what you are doing. The artists and listeners will continue to be satisfied. (Sacile 2003)”

ANGELA HEWITT

“The action is incredibly responsive to every variation in touch, and everything I imagine in my head I can produce with my fingers. It gives me complete freedom to play as I wish. The sound is also very coloured. With the Fazioli you can get great power but also wonderful delicacy which, nevertheless, does not lose its brilliance. The high frequencies and reverberations are always there. This is a great feeling! It has wonderful clarity, especially in the lower register.”

IIRO RANTALA

“I got my Fazioli 212 couple years ago from the factory and it’s a dream come true for me. I just adore the clarity and brightness of the diskant and the ballsy middle and bass area. My Fazioli seems to be feeling very well also during the cold and dry Finnish winters.

Every moment with Fazioli is pure joy. ”

NIKOLAI DEMIDENKO

“Dear Paolo, every day I sit at my Fazioli 183 I discover new worlds of colours and exciting possibilities. Never ending surprises - like living in a wonderland! Thank you for enhancing my life! ”

ARIA

Aria is all about the music, with a dual vocation: it decorates majestic, prestigious venues, being naturally suited to yachts, boats, palaces, hotels and concert halls. The original visual idea is inspired by a symbolic figure: a bird opening up its left wing, keeping its right wing close to its body, just before taking off in full flight. The sense of lightness in the flight is increased by the intense dark blue colour and the vivid silver of the aluminium.

EBONY BLACK & WHITE

A special Black and White ebony essence, precious and rare wood from South-Eastern Asia and Laos, covers this F183 model, where tone gradations and shades leave space to knifelike streaks and intense colours, thus creating a pattern of sharp contrasts. This unusual finish can adapt to a modern design just as much as it can add value to the most elegant locations.

WALNUT STRAUSS

The legs are not traditionally shaped, but rounded in a series of concentric rings with various diameters; the pedalboard recalls the shape of a lyre and the music desk is perforated in rich motifs: these elements remind us the image of a nineteenth-century piano. The choice of a beautiful walnut veneer further enhances this elegant instrument.

GOLD LEAF

A 24-carat gold leaf completely covers this F228 piano model, giving it a touch of royal prestige. The transparent polyester that protects the gold leaf gives the surface a precious luminosity of iridescent shades.

M. LIMINAL

Designed by NYT Line The music of shape and the design of sound are expressed in this M. Liminal model, designed by NYT Line and Philippe Gendre. Just as consonance and dissonance are organised in music, M. Liminal's shapes and colours are combined in asymmetric designs, simultaneously generating a composite and organic unit, as in nature. Inspired by the sea, the shape of the side evokes the profile of a wave while the black-silver colour recalls that of a dolphin. The red of the soundboard and black of the cast iron frame filter through the transparency of the Plexiglas music stand.

MARCO POLO

This example of a specifically commissioned piano features an unusual red high gloss varnish with a hand-painted reproduction of a Canaletto painting which celebrates the ancient connection between Venice and China: the client's country.

RED ELM

This precious F308 in red elm brier was designed by architect Ernest Collins upon his client's request, who wished to have a music room with a piano matching the Georgian style of his house. In fact, the medallions recall motives used by the great English cabinetmakers of the 18th century, as do the mother-of-pearl decorations, which give a touch of elegance and brightness to the special case.

TAMO

Designed by Robert McKay and conceived for the spectacular location of Lloyd Bruce Home Collections in Coal Harbour, Vancouver, this exclusive piano is made of a precious tamo veneer. This finish, combined with the silver colour of the iron frame, logos, pedals and other metal parts, gives particular warmth, elegance and light to the project.

MALACHITE

Inlays of natural and coloured wood, mother-of-pearl and semi-precious stones can give birth to complex designs, beadings and arabesques. To embellish this F212, the chosen stone is Malachite, while the wood is walnut.

TELUS

This one-of-a-kind piano was designed by Gregory Henriquez, architect for TELUS Garden, a lobby of the new TELUS headquarters located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Canada. The architect drew inspiration from the design of the office building itself. Rather than opting for traditional black, Gregory Henriquez chose a natural wood finish, echoing the dramatic, sculptural glulam beams of the expansive plaza canopy. The legs supporting the piano mimic the distinctive V-shaped concrete structural supports that are an integral part of the tower's design. And in a nod to the high-tech features of TELUS Garden office, the inside panel of the lid is mirrored, providing viewers with a clear perspective of the pianos inside.

MACASSAR

THE BUTTERFLY

Bing Thom Architects and Fazioli have created a custom instrument designed to reflect Westbank's latest architectural project in the heart of downtown Vancouver, The Butterfly. The architects sought to capture the same experiential qualities inherent in the design of this futuristic tower. The lightness of the legs and rails echoes the open garden breezeways, while its delicately sculpted geometry recalls the soft undulations of the towers skin, abstracted from the surrounding landscapes.

KENGO KUMA

Since Alberni Street in Vancouver strives to create a new high-rise experience by introducing a soft and intimate idiom particular to Japanese space, the designer of this extraordinary grand piano thought of how the piano could evoke the same feelings. By layering sheets of hinoki wood - a spiritual material in Japan used for building temples - and by carving the piano in a similar manner as the tower, this instrument looks light, textured, and warm - its hallowed formations implying an almost geological, timeless character.

ORIGAMI FAIRMONT

Commissioned by the owners of the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, the Origami Fazioli piano was originally designed by a team of renowned architects (McFarlane / Green / Biggar). The white coloured instrument distinguishes itself thanks to the elaborate tri-dimensional incision, made of walnut wood, located on the internal side of the lid. When the piano was refurbished in 2019, the owners invited Origami Master Joseph Wu to contribute to the design.

SILVER

The inside of this instrument, including the soundboard, is entirely lacquered in black high-gloss polyester. The iron frame is finished in silver and all the metallic components are chrome-plated. These features combine to create an unusual F228 piano, conceived by the world-famous architect Norman Foster. This model has been named "Silver" because of the impact created by its silver iron frame.
